Enjoy An Eerie Outing With Haunted Cape Cod

halloweenSpooky sights, haunting tales and ghostly happenings are all part of the fun when you take one of the tours offered by Haunted Cape Cod. The Barnstable Village company specializes in the paranormal aspects of our area, offering two tour options for guests.

On the Ghost Hunter’s Walking Tour, led by a professional ghost hunter, you will first learn the haunting tales of the town. Then on a three-hour walking tour through the village, you will visit the sites of infamous haunts, such as Crocker Tavern and the Barnstable Court House. A visit to a cemetery and lesson in using sensory equipment to detect paranormal activity will also be included. The tour ends at the Old Jail, what is still said to be actively haunted.

For those who’d like a little history with their haunts, there’s a Haunted & History Walking Tour. As you wander along “Old King’s Highway” in Barnstable Village, the guide will fill you in on how England gained a foothold in the town. Ten places are visited on the two-hour tour, eight of which have ghost stories around them. Included in the hair-raising sights are Cobb’s Hill Cemetery and Barnstable Tavern & Restaurant, where a spirit skulks in the dining room. This tour also ends at the Old Jail, built in 1690.
